General
The left-handed Original Collection SG Standard '61 is based on Gibson's legendary, double-cut follow-up to the original 1961 Les Paul. Here, the mahogany body and neck have been glued together, not only giving you that classic and warm foundation sound, but the 'Slim Taper' feel of iconic models from the early sixties. Made of rosewood, the fretboard has a 12" radius and 22 medium jumbo frets and provides that Gibson-grade playing comfort, while the double-cutaway grants unrestricted access the highest frets. For the safekeeping and maintenance of your SG, a hardshell case and Gibson Accessory Kit come included.
The SG Standard '61: Armed With Burstbuckers
To treat any old-school rockers and traditional heavy-metalists to a satisfying range of tone, Gibson have armed the SG Standard '61 with two double-coil Burstbucker pickups. While the 61T humbucker at the bridge will no doubt be your go-to, you can always engage the 61R at the neck to smooth out the tone. Besides the trusty build, Vintage Deluxe tuners, and an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, this Original Collection guitar comes finished with a stable, aluminium Stop Bar tailpiece and a Graph Tech string nut for solid tuning.
